Gimme a Break - Rest, Reset, Relax
Though this episode was meant to come at you a week earlier, some scheduling and technical issues got in the way but today is certainly a fitting day to talk about the critical need for rest and resetting in our busy lives. I am talking burnout and the importance of taking breaks to maintain productivity and mental health. We’re giving a quick overview of the difference between restorative rest and mindless activities like scrolling on social media. I advocate for hobbies and nature as healthier alternatives.
Let’s redefine what rest looks like. What self care looks like. What relaxation looks like. Today is about restorative energy.
II went into the city over the weekend with nothing specific to do, but I took this time to check out some local shops, wander around, people watch… and it felt so good. Today felt the same as I walked through Soho without a set place I needed to be. Sometimes these simple acts can be exactly the rejuvenation we need. What’s your favourite way to relax, reset, and give yourself a fresh perspective on life? The space for a mental reset is where the creativity flows, where new ideas take place and where you begin to see really growth. Making this a priority is a key for long term success.
